Growing up you heard "the eye focuses light and works like a camera". True. Light enters through the cornea, the "window of the eye." The rays of light travel through the pupil to the lens; the lens fine tunes the focus of light onto the retina. The retina turns light into electrical impulses that travel to the brain which interprets the image it receives.
